PHILADELPHIA: Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after further medical testing revealed he is dealing with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and blood clots in both lungs.

The diagnosis also means Hurts had been playing while dealing with the condition before doctors discovered the blood clots, adding a sobering new layer to the health scare.

According to the Eagles and Hurts’ agent, Nicole Lynn, Hurts is clinically stable and doctors expect him to make a full recovery. He will undergo treatment with blood thinners and will not be able to participate in contact football while taking the medication.

The news hits especially close to home for us. We were recently with Hurts in Philadelphia for the official opening of Jordan Brand’s first U.S. World of Flight flagship store, where the Eagles quarterback joined the celebration for another major moment in the city he has embraced as home.

Now, football takes a back seat as Hurts focuses on his health and recovery.

Wishing Jalen Hurts a full and healthy recovery.
