Faith Evans has lost a major legal battle involving The Notorious B.I.G.’s estate, with a Delaware judge ruling that more than $12.5 million in distributions is owed to a trust established by Biggie’s late mother, Voletta Wallace.

The dispute centers around Notorious B.I.G., LLC, the company that controls rights connected to Biggie’s intellectual property and is managed by Evans. After Voletta Wallace died in February 2025, her assets passed to the Voletta Wallace Revocable Trust, overseen by longtime Biggie manager Wayne Barrow.

Evans had challenged the trust’s right to receive certain distributions while a separate family dispute involving Biggie’s children plays out in Pennsylvania. But the Delaware court ruled that the trust is entitled to $12,518,336, plus prejudgment interest.

The money is tied to distributions involving Wallace’s stake in the company following the reported $100 million Primary Wave deal for a 50% interest in Biggie’s music and related rights.

Nearly 30 years after Biggie’s death, the business surrounding his legendary catalog continues to generate major money — and now, a major family legal battle.
