Cardi B and Nicki Minaj Will Headline BET Experience Concerts

BET announced that the 7th annual BET Experience will take place June 20 through June 22. The concerts go down before the 2019 BET Awards on June 23. Cardi and Nicki are both slated to perform, along with Lil Wayne, Tory Lanez, Migos, Trippie Redd, Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, Bri Steves and City Girls. Nicki will perform on June 21 and Cardi will perform on June 22. More entertainers will be announced at a later date.

Kanye West Sues Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records and Label EMI

The rapper has filed two separate lawsuits, claiming he’s owed money by Roc-A-Fella and EMI. It is unclear how much money West is looking to recoup. In the lawsuits, West describes 2000 as a “breakout year” He produced Jay-Z’s album, ‘The Blueprint,’ and co-wrote four of the songs. Nas Inks $340 Million Deal With Viacom

Viacom has signed the deal with the legendary rapper’s Queensbridge Venture Partners media group. The two companies will split the cost for the U.S.’s leading free television streaming service, Pluto TV. Cardi B Lands Las Vegas Residency

Fans in the “City of Lights” will officially be able to “party with Cardi.” The rapper’s first Vegas residency is set for this spring. Palms Casino Resort announced Cardi B will kick off her residency at KAOS. The club is set to open in April. Cardi B will join G-Eazy, Kaskade and Skrillex, who also have residencies at KAOS. The venue includes a 360-degree DJ booth for enhanced performances. The Grammy-nominated artist will also be performing at this year’s 61st annual Grammys. The awards air on February 10.

REMEMBERING Malcolm James McCormick, also known as Mac Miller, was born on January 19, 1992. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The late rapper died at the age of 26 on September 7, 2018, after an accidental overdose. The first group of performers for this year’s star-studded Grammys has been announced. The lineup will feature Grammy nominees, Cabello and Mendes will be performing at the Grammys for the first time. Both nominees are up for best pop vocal album. First-time Grammy nominees Dan + Shay and Post Malone are up for their own awards. Dan + Shay have a nomination for best country duo/group performance. The “Bodak Yellow” singer will be Pepsi’s spokesperson for the next 12 months. TMZ reports she’s already filmed a commercial that will air next month during the Super Bowl. The Pepsi ad is considered the Super Bowl’s top commercial, viewed by hundreds of millions of people. Last year, Cindy Crawford was featured in the ad. It’s officially ‘Hoodie SZN.’ The New York rapper’s album sold 58,000 total copies and had 83 million streams to land at No. 1 on the ‘Billboard’ 200 albums chart. ‘Hoodie SZN’ only sold 823 traditional copies, making it the lowest-selling No. 1 album of all-time. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie spent the previous two weeks at No. 2 on the chart. The remainder of the top 5 included 21 Savage’s ‘I Am > I Was,’ the ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ soundtrack, Meek Mill’s ‘Championships’ and Post Malone’s ‘beerbongs & bentleys.’

Travis Scott Resolves Festival Accusations

The ‘Astroworld’ rapper had been accused of fraud and breach of contract by Empire Music Ventures. They alleged he had agreed to perform at the 2019 Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience at the Empire Polo Grounds. Scott pulled out just weeks after signing a contract. He had already received just over half of his $400,000 fee. However, the case will now be dismissed after the $217,500 deposit was returned. Apparently, the person who booked Scott for the event wasn’t his official booker. The 26-year-old star had never agreed to take the job.
