Janelle Monáe, Alessia Cara and Shawn Mendes announced some of the nominees on ‘CBS This Morning.’ Kendrick Lamar received the most nominations with eight, including album of the year and song of the year. Drake had seven nominations, including album of the year, record of the year and song of the year. Monáe became emotional when ‘Dirty Computer’ was announced for album of the year. The project is about herself and the LGBT community. There was controversy when Cardi B and Post Malone were both deemed ineligible for best new artist. Malone’s ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys’ and Cardi’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ are both up for album of the year. Cardi B’s “I Like It” was also nominated for record of the year. The Grammy Awards ceremony will air Feb. 10 on CBS.
